Winner Gold Jury Price Award at Social Justice Film Festival

Great news! Transit Zone has won the Gold Jury Price Award at the Social Justice Film Festival in the US! In the name of the whole crew we would like to thank the festival and the Jury for the honour. More info and other winners can be found here.



Award Nomination at IDA Documentary Awards

Doc Supper in London

Transit Zone will be shown at Doc Supper in London on 13th of October including a Q&A with the filmmaker. Doc Supper is a friendly get together of filmmakers and people interested in documentary. They published an interesting article ahead of the event called 'What I have learned in the Transit Zone'. You can read it here


Student Academy Awards

Some fantastic news! Transit Zone made it into the semi-final stage of the Student Academy Awards in the category Best Foreign Documentary film! Unfortunately it didn't progress any further but still a great success to make it that far for the Student Oscars. Screen Academy Scotland covered it on their website.



XpoNorth Festival

Transit Zone was part of the XpoNorth Festival in Inverness which is a major event for the creative industries in Scotland. Director Frederik Subei was interviewed for the XpoNorth Live coverage. You can watch the interview here...




The Ferret Magazine: I survived war in Syria, but almost died in Europe

The Ferret magazine, an independent and investigative online magazine in Scotland, featured another short film by filmmaker Frederik Subei about a Syrian refugee in Calais. The film includes some very disturbing footage when the refugees get trapped in a tanker truck while trying to cross the border to the UK. You can read the full article here. Edinburgh College of Art

Transit Zone was produced by Frederik Subei as the graduation film for his 1 year studies at Edinburgh College of Art in MA Film Directing (Documentary). The university published two articles, one about the screening at the CCA in Glasgow and the exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art and another article featuring all the films by current and former students at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.


Interview at BBC Radio Scotland

Film director Frederik Subei was invited to BBC Radio Scotland for an interview to talk about his experience at the jungle in Calais. You can listen to the interview at the link below.


Visions du Reel Festival

Transit Zone received a Jury Special Mention at Visions du Reel in Switzerland in April 2016! Click on this link to see all award winners 2016. Director Frederik Subei was also interviewed on camera by Le Bloc Documentaire which you can read here, in case you speak French.



Screen Academy Scotland

Transit Zone has been featured at the Screen Academy website after the film has been accepted to the Glasgow Short Film Festival 2016. Read the full article here.


Social Impact Media Awards 2016

Transit Zone has won the SIMA award 2016 for Best Sound Editing Short Documentary. The film also received a Jury Special Mention. Thanks to the fantastic work of music composer Yoann Mylonakis and sound designer Anne-Sophie Mongeau. Here you can see all winners for the SIMA Awards 2016, some really good films to check out!
